Apply for naturalization in Panama is a goal for many foreign citizens who reside in the country and decide to make this their home for themselves and their families.
These are the requirements that must be presented before the Ministry of Government and Justice:
- Authorization and memorial addressed to the President of the Republic, requesting Panamanian nationality.
- Prove the absence of criminal records or arrest warrants or apprehensions in force, by means of certifications issued by the competent authorities, in the country of residence in the last five years or of their country of origin, as the case may be.
- Criminal record certificate issued by the Panamanian authorities.
- Authenticated copy of the personal identity document of the permanent resident, granted by the competent authority.
- Certificate of marriage or birth of Panamanian children.

- Certification of immigration status of the National Migration Service.
- Certification of existence and validity of the law of reciprocity, if it is the case.
