What is Immigration Regularization in Panama
What is understood by the immigration regularization process in Panama?
The immigration regularization process in Panama is aimed at all those foreigners who stayed from within the territory of the Republic of Panama irregularly for a period of one year or more and did not legalize their stay in the Republic of Panama.
Through Executive Decree No. 169 of May 22, 2015, the renewal of the Provisional Residence Permits granted within the Extraordinary Immigration Regularization Processes and through Executive Decree No. 167 dated June 3, 2016 is authorized. This decree is the one that establishes the General Immigration Regularization procedure.
Within the framework of these Executive Decrees cited above, a 10-year renewal Provisional Permit card and a 6-year renewal Provisional Permit card were granted.
Subsequently to this, it is through Executive Decree number 249 dated June 10, 2019 that the procedures and requirements are established to give Definitive Permanence in Panama to foreigners who have obtained a 10-year license renewal of your Permit for the Extraordinary Immigration Regularization Processes and renewal of your 6-year card of your Provisional General Immigration Regularization Permit.
It should be noted that the procedures for the renewal of immigration regularization in Panama must be carried out through Lawyers.
