Sem Visas
Who can opt for the Sem visa?
All foreign personnel of a Sem company, in other words, that is part of the staff of a company that has the category of Multinational Company Headquarters; and that they are of administrative or executive level. Visas will be issued for a renewable term, while the contract lasts.
Requirements to obtain the Sem Visa:
1. Power and request through lawyers.
2. Passport (minimum validity of 3 months).
3. Criminal record (apostilled or authenticated by the country of origin).
4. Three passport size photographs.
5. Medical certificate of good health.
6. Letter of responsibility from the Sem company where it accredits: salary, positions and functions of the applicant.
7. Letter from the Technical Secretariat of the Licensing Commission of the headquarters of multinational companies, certifying that the applicant is covered by the medical insurance of the Sem company.
8. Employment contract indicating the duration of the same.
The Sem visa will allow foreign workers to work in the company without the need for a work permit.
It is important to clarify that with this type of visa the applicant can only work in the Sem company that appears on the form.
Duration of the Sem Visa.
It is granted for the duration of the applicant’s contract, it can be temporary for 6 months, 2 years or 5 years, always with the possibility of extension while the contracting party continues working at the Sem company.
In other words, it is a temporary special permit while the Sem company decides to keep the employment contract in force.
