New requirements to enter Panama.
Luis Francisco Sucre, Minister of Health, notified that tourists vaccinated against COVID-19, must present a card through which it is certified that they received the second dose 14 days before arriving in Panama and must also record a negative PCR test .
The Minister of Health of Panama reported that since July 26, the new requirements for those travelers who want to enter to the Central American country in the framework of the measures to be taken against the pandemic come into effect.
Francisco Sucre indicated that said vaccination card must be attached to the sworn statement before the trip, “in addition, the passenger upon arrival must physically present the vaccination card or the digital certificate issued by the competent authority.”
In addition, the passenger must upload in the affidavit of health an anti-coronavirus test (PCR or antigen) that had a negative result within a maximum period of 72 hours before entering Panama.
The Ministry of Health stressed that for tourists who comply with the requirement of the complete vaccination scheme and the negative test for COVID-19, and who also come from countries not considered high risk, it will not be necessary to carry out a second test in the airport.
The Ministry of Health added that if the test result is negative “they will not have to comply with quarantine, if they do not have the COVID-19 test in a maximum of 72 hours it will be mandatory to perform it at the expense of the traveler and if it is positive the himself will have to carry out a 14-day quarantine at the passenger’s expense ”.
