Culture ambiance
The urban culture near the canal is very different to the rural culture of the savannas. In the savannas , we can find cattle ranches and horse riding, they are a center of Hispanic tradition. Tradicional folk songs and handicrafts are preserved there, for example, near the towns of Chitré and Las Tablas.
The territories of the various indigenous groups are also culturally important, each with its own language and crafts, such as the molas worn by the Kuna women and the bags made by the Guaymí.
The Kuna have a strong tradition of oral literature, which includes epic poetry, which, when written, can have thousands of lines. Other areas of cultural interest include the Caribbean islands of Bahía Almirante, with their Antillean customs.
