The Ministry of Public Security of Panama through decree number 722 has created the sub-category of Permanent Resident as a Qualified Investor, which belongs to the category of Permanent Resident.
Who is it for?
This residence is aimed at foreigners who invest in Panama the minimum amount of $ 500,000 that comes from a foreign source.
To apply for this program, foreign investors must invest in real estate.
Real estate investments can be for units already completed or also by investing in contracts of real estate buy and sale , through the incorporation of a trust that guarantees the purchase of the real estate.
To apply to this program, another way is that foreign investors must invest in the purchase of securities in the Panama Stock Exchange for a minimum amount of $. 500,000 and establishment of bank fixed terms for a minimum of $. 750,000. These values must have a direct impact on the national territory.
It is noteworthy that all investments must be maintained for a period of at least 5 years and for the investor to obtain immediate permanent residence after the completion of the process, a period of 30 days is estimated.
We should also mention that this program allows the Qualified Investor to apply from outside of Panama. That is, you can make the investment from abroad, through a local lawyer, and complete the process the moment you enter Panamanian territory.
